Healthy Millet Waffles with Maple Syrup and Orange Zest

Well, are you craving some waffles but don't wanna feel guilty? Here's a healthy waffle recipe for you with some fresh orange zest, which will blow your mind!

Ingredients -

  1. 1 packet of Millet Waffle Premix by Harsha Enterprises
  2. 1 egg
  3. 2 g of sugar
  4. A pinch of salt (to taste)
  5. 0.5 g of baking powder
  6. 0.5 g of baking soda
  7. 1 ml of orange juice
  8. 1 ml of vanilla essence
  9. 1 orange (for the orange zest & juice)


Healthy Millet Waffles -

  • First off, separate the egg and the egg white in two bowls. Preheat your oven at 93 degrees Celsius and preheat your waffle iron.
  • In a larger bowl, mix all the dry ingredients - the millet premix, 2 g of sugar, a pinch of salt, the baking soda and the baking powder.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the egg yolk and orange juice. Add the vanilla essence and stir. Peel some orange zest and into the bowl. Mix thoroughly.
  • Meanwhile, beat the egg whites with a whisk until you get soft peaks. Set aside.
  • Now, add the wet egg yolk mixture to the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. Add a bit of water if the mixture is a bit thick. Now fold in the egg whites slowly, until the mixture is fluffy.
  • Pour the millet waffle batter onto the preheated waffle iron and cook it according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Once the waffle is cooked, set them aside in the preheated oven to keep them warm.
  • Repeat until all the batter is used up.
Remove the waffles from the oven and lay them out in beautiful plates cut up in a perfect triangular shape. Drizzle some maple syrup and garnish it with some orange zest.
