Tasty Butterscotch Nut Slice Recipe

Butterscotch flavor is highly popular and in-demand all over the world. Various recipes include using using butterscotch sauce and butterscotch nuts for flavor.


Butterscotch Nut Slice

Here's a recipe of a tasty butterscotch slice to satisfy your sweet tooth -

Ingredients:

1. Pastry base - 
  •  1 cup of cubed butter
  • 2 tbsp refined sugar
  • 1 tsp salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp of self-raising floor
  • 1 egg
2. Butterscotch Nut topping -
  • 113 g of Nitin's Macadamia Nuts
  • 113 g of Nitin's Butterscotch Nuts
  • 1 cup of brown sugar 
  • 3/4th cup of butter cubes
  • 1/4th cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp of plain flour

Recipe:
  1. Pre-heat the oven to 176 deg Celsius.
  2. For the pastry base, add butter to a mixing bowl along with the self-raising floor, plain floor and salt. 
  3. In a separate bowl, beat sugar and butter with a beater. Add a whole egg to the bowl and mix well.  Mix both these mixtures well.
  4. Use this crumbly mixture to form the pastry base by pressing it onto a baking pan greased with butter. The baking pan should be 8 X 12 X 2 inches in dimension.
  5. Poke holes in the pastry with a fork to stop it from rising while baking.
  6. Fill the sheet pan with rice and blind bake in the oven for 12 mins until golden.
  7. Take it out and leave it to cool.
  8. For the butterscotch sauce, heat up the brown sugar & butter till it boils.
  9. In another bowl, mix the macadamia nuts and butterscotch nuts. Pour the butterscotch sauce on the mixture and coat the nuts thoroughly.
  10. Pour this nut mixture on the baked pastry pan and flatten it out. 
  11. Bake in the oven for 15 mins till the mixture boils. Take it out after and leave it to cool.
  12. Cut the baked mixture into square slices. 
Serve it with a dollop of vanilla ice cream and coffee. Store the rest in a container.
